Our Garden and River

The Garden

The large garden at Old Water View slopes gently down to the banks of Goldrill Beck, which meanders on to Lake Ullswater. The gardens are mainly grass, with mature trees where you can often see our red squirrels scampering around.

We have a Covered Patio at the bottom of our garden, which overlooks the River, and is also equipped with a barbecue, available for the use of our guests. What nicer way to end a summer’s day than to sit and relax in the garden and enjoy some barbecue food and a leisurely drink.

The River

Old Water View overlooks Goldrill Beck, which flows round two sides of our garden on its way to Lake Ullswater.

In summer, when windows are open, the sound of the river provides a tranquil background to the bird song in our Garden.
